Demolition Time
I tried to upload these so you get a before and after. Enjoy!

That's all the pairs I could find. But don't despair, here are some more good shots.

We tried to keep that toilet installed for as long as possible. But one of the seals broke while demoing around it. I think it lasted for about a few weeks. Don't despair. We installed a new toilet shortly after that one met it's demise.
During the first part of the demo, we tore out a few tons of crap. The upstairs was completely gutted. In the downstairs, the only thing that was left untouched was the outside walls and the wall between the bedroom and the living room. the load bearing wall was never torn down, but it was moved.
After the demo, we moved onto figuring out what we were going to do to fix the place. We ended up needed a "structural engineer" to draw up the plans for the upstairs and we figured it was a good idea to get an architect to help with the general flow of things. I'll try to find those plans so you can see the difference between the original layout and what we have now.

A little info about the house
I realized that I haven't written anything about the actual house. So here you go...
The house started out as a 3 bedroom/1 bathroom house. During the construction, we turned it into a 3 bed/2 bath and two of the bedrooms were made significantly bigger.
The house started out at 1300 square feet. We added a little over 200 sq. ft. when we added the dormer addition.
It was built back in 1927. Since then, it has undergone a couple of remodels. In one, the kitchen was moved from the front of the house to the back and the old kitchen was turned into the dining room. At some point the owners got tired of painting and put up some really ugly vinyl siding.
I'll probably post some demolition pictures in the next few days.

Day 1: It begins...
Hey there-
As most of you know, Brooks and I bought a house in July with the intention of fixing it up and then selling it for big $$$. After a great deal of sweat and blood, we are starting to have something to show for it.
I setup this site so that I could show people some pictures of the house that I've been putting all my time and money into for the last 6 months. Well, I've never really been one for words so I will let the pictures do the talking. These are all from before we started construction back in July.
